How do I use Microsoft Teams for online communication?

This guide will walk you through using Microsoft Teams for quick online communication with students or staff of TCC.

Campus email

1)  Click on the group of squares in the upper right hand corner of the Portal

2)  Click on Campus Email

App Launcher

Click on the group of squares in the upper left hand corner of your Outlook email

Teams

1)  Click on Teams

2)  IF you do not see Teams in the quick list, click on All apps and find it in the list

Make a call

1)  Click on Calls

2)  Click on Make a call

1)  Start typing a name and a list will populate below

2)  Click on the name to call that person

Call or video

Click on the Call icon for just a voice call or click on the video icon for a video call

A call

1)  Mutes or unmutes your video

2)  Mutes or unmutes your Mic

3)  You can share your desktop

4)  More options for interacting with the person your calling

5)  Opens a chat window

6)  You can add the person to a group

7)  Hang up your call

Help

For some training, you can click on the help link and select training

Desktop

1)  Click on the download Icon

2)  Chose where to save the install file

3)  Click Save

Click on the file to start the install

Shortcut

The short cut will be installed on your desk top to launch teams from your desktop
